Senior Java Developer (AWS, scalability) (m/f/d) - relocation


Our partner, a successful digital media platform, is looking for a Senior Java Developer (m/f/d) to strengthen the Tech Services team in Munich. 

Relocation from abroad is possible. We will take care of your visa application and relocation to Germany. Your family members (spouse, children under 18 years old) will get a visa as well.

In this role, you will be responsible for the development of both new and existing microservices using Java on the AWS platform, building the scalable application infrastructure that processes high volume of data.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Contributing to the creation of scalable software systems by implementing Domain-Driven-Design (DDD), Clean Architecture, and various Object-Oriented Enterprise Design Patterns, ensuring code modularity and readability.
  • Being an integral part of an engineering culture that prioritizes Clean Code, Test-Driven-Development (TDD), and continuous refactoring.
  • Directly interact with end-users throughout the entire process, addressing their business problems from requirement gathering to coding, testing, releasing, monitoring, and overseeing production operations.

Tech stack:

Java 11+, Spring Framework, JUnit, Mockito, AWS (CloudFormation, ECS, Lambda, Kinesis, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB), Docker, GitLabCI, Maven, Terraform, DataDog

Required qualifications:

  • Extensive expertise in designing and developing large software applications using Java and Spring Framework.
  • Hands-on experience building scalable systems based on microservice architecture, capable of processing large volumes of data.
  • Experience in developing data-intensive backend applications on¬† AWS. Experience with Serverless/Lambda is a plus
  • Experience in an agile environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to concisely explain complex technical topics.
  • Fluent in English (at least B2+) and German (at least B2+).
